There are multiple ways in which a connection can end up becoming interrupted or result in an unsuccessful pairing. And one of those reasons stems from a previously connected device. These aren't going to blow you away, (they are not terribly loud), but the sound quality is good and I have not had the connectivity issues that I have read about regarding the previous generation / iteration of them. This is my first truly negative review to write. I was so excited to see how these worked. The Left earbud doesn’t even turn on. Quality in Right earbud is awful. I wish I could return, but it was a birthday gift and given after no return date. Ugh. Total waste of money. So upsetting:

I am very surprised by the performance and sound quality. I have used my JBL in various types of settings and I am happy to report that I haven't had a single connection issue yet. I have maintained a solid connection while on the train, outdoors walking around and at home where I have multiple wireless devices. Good evening . I have this model of jbl free ll headphones and for a while now one of the headphones connects on the left and the one on the right flashes white blue very often and absolutely nothing is heard but when I close them I hear that sound of pawer of. They have a cool white LED ring around the JBL logo while in the case, and the LED charging status lights give a subtle human face look to the charging case when you close the translucent lid while charging. Don't know if that was intentional to 'humanize' the product, but a nice touch none the less. After installing both the gel "sweatshield" and the smaller ear tips, I feel these are very secure in my ears. Not sure I could play basketball, but the treadmill weightlifting poses no issues. Other earbuds I've had I felt like I was always adjusting so they don't fall out. These seem good!

Fit is enormously important with active headphones, and when we reviewed the Vista 2's predecessors -- the Jaybird Vista -- we found they delivered in that department. When the buds are charging, the case will remain on for awhile with lights showing while the case is closed. The JBL Live Free 2 offer great noise cancellation and call quality, both of which can be important features. Listening to music is fine, but it could be better. Still, this is a quality set of earbuds for the price.
