My final criticism is that the author uses too many examples from his own life and his own experience, which gives a bit of a 'be like me and you'll be fine' feeling. The principles are simple though so probably easy to apply to your day-to-day and the final chapter, on goal setting was one of the better ones and so it ended on a high. It touches on some basic "betterment principles" in a conversational tone but I think there are definitely more though provoking publications out there.
