About this deal

It takes a little longer to fill a dropper with liquid minoxidil than it does to dispense a half capful of foam minoxidil (I’ll have some more application tips for you later in the article). Granted, you probably won’t save more than a few seconds per treatment if you choose the foam over the liquid, but you only get 8,640 seconds per day, and if you literally want to make all of those seconds count, the foam will be the better option for you. Finasteride– finasteride is sort of the male equivalent to “the pill.” Like the female version of “the pill”— i.e. birth control — finasteride comes with an array of unpleasant, potential side effects, primarily of the sexual variety. The drug has an excellent safety profile overall and has been FDA-approved to treat hair loss for over 25 years. The patient should stop using Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Foam 5% w/w Cutaneous Foam and see a doctor if hypotension is detected or if the patient is experiencing chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness or dizziness, sudden unexplained weight gain, swollen hands or feet or persistent redness or irritation of the scalp or other unexpected new symptoms occur (see section 4.8). Laser Therapy– As I’ve said before, laser therapy is the “embarrassing” hair loss remedy. It works to some degree, but you’d probably be mortified if your girlfriend or beer buddies “caught” you wearing a ridiculous-looking laser helmet or cap.

Individual responses to Regaine for Women ONCE A DAY are variable and unpredictable. The efficacy of 5 % minoxidil topical foam for the treatment of androgenic alopecia in women has been assessed in two phase 3 clinical trials, each studying women with FPHL with scalp hair density on the top of the scalp D3 to D6 on the Savin Density Scale. The primary efficacy endpoints were a) mean change in non-vellus hair count within the target region between Baseline and Week 16, as determined by validated computer-assisted dot-mapping technique; and b) subject rating of treatment benefit via use of global photographs of the vertex region, assessed as an overall improvement from baseline, collected on a subject questionnaire.

It may take twice-daily applications for 8 weeks or more before evidence of hair growth can be expected. Users should discontinue treatment if there is no improvement seen after 16 weeks.

The key thing to bear in mind when using Minoxidil is that any positive effects upon hair loss will be reserved once you stop treatment. Typically, hair loss will resume as normal after three to four months of ceasing treatment with Minoxidil. For this reason, Minoxidil should not be thought of as a hair loss cure, but as a temporary solution.

How do you use minoxidil?

Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary. Tell your healthcare professional if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription (over-the-counter [OTC]) medicine. Other Interactions Hair and scalp should be thoroughly dry prior to topical application of Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Solution 5% w/v Cutaneous Solution. A dose of 1 ml Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Solution 5% w/v Cutaneous Solution should be applied to the total affected areas of the scalp twice daily. The total dosage should not exceed 2 ml. If fingertips are used to facilitate drug application, hands should be washed afterwards.

Increased systemic absorption of minoxidil may potentially occur if higher-than-recommended doses of Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Foam 5% w/w Cutaneous Foam are applied to larger surface areas of the body or areas other than the scalp. Hypersensitivity reactions (The manifestations of Hypersensitivity reactions may include the following MedDRA PTs: Face oedema, Generalised erythema, Pruritus generalized, Swelling face, and Throat tightness) Let’s begin. Comparing Minoxidil Liquid vs. Foam Based on Six Critical Factors 1. Price Winner: Standard Liquid MinoxidilBut the jury’s still out on which version of Rogaine/minoxidil is better, the liquid or the foam. And in this post, I’m going to be the judge and jury. Minoxidil is designed to treat hair loss that runs in your family. It's not intended to treat hair loss due to other causes, such as stress, illness, iron deficiency or treatments for cancer. It's recommended that you see your GP or pharmacist before starting treatment with minoxidil, to make sure your hair loss is due to male or female pattern baldness rather than any other cause. Make sure your hair and scalp are dry before you apply minoxidil. It is recommended that you leave about an hour between washing your hair and applying the preparation. Read the instructions. That’s obvious I know, but it’s a step many people skip and one of the 8 most common minoxidil mistakes. Caution extremely flammable: Pressurised container: May burst if heated. Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures above 50°C/122°F.
