Nose: rich sherry, perfectly clean. Fresh figs and cherry liqueur, some orange peel and cinnamon. Also pepper and hints of hay. Minty notes and crystallized ginger. Subtle vanilla and floral notes too, in fact it’s rather light and youthful, not as heavyweight as some others. Secondly, according to Arran Master Distiller James MacTaggart, they wanted to create a new design that would help them clearly distinguish between whisky made at Lochranza Distillery (where Arran whisky is currently produced) and their newly opened Lagg Distillery, dedicated to the creation of peated Arran whisky.
