About this deal

Yamaha’s acoustic technology furnishes the Piaggero’s powerful sound - a sound that belies its compact size, featuring resonant grand piano-style bass notes and beautifully detailed treble tones. The Piaggero features the sound of a Yamaha full concert grand, the CFIIIS. The sound was sampled from a piano with a bright, transparent tone, a spacious treble, and an overall solid sonic feel. The keys themselves are also 1 mm narrower than real pianos, possibly another step taken to reduce the overall width of the keyboard. This is ultimately negligible, and I didn’t notice this too much during the test. When you reach the polyphony cap, the piano starts to drop the earliest played notes to free up memory for new notes, which in turn affects the quality and fullness of the sound.

Dual Mode is the only extra play mode you get and it’s sometimes called ‘Layer Mode’ on other keyboard brands. The Piaggero is an instrument for people who love the piano. Its modern design features aspects that are reminiscent of a piano and focuses on only the most practical functions, making it eminently usable and allowing even people who are not used to digital instruments to operate it intuitively.

Both models support 6 AA batteries, however, the NP 12 has an average life of 16 hours and the NP32 7 hours.Having worked in the music industry for over 10 years, Lucas found passion in helping others choose the most suitable music gear for them.

A record function is also included for recording your performances, and you can opt to include the metronome if using it. It’s also possible to record and add an accompaniment over the original recording. The NP15 has an authentic piano sound with box style touch sensitivity keys that make it easier for novice pianists to start. Compared to its predecessor, the NP15 features an even better playability as well as more versatile features that will suit the needs of piano/keyboard players of all levels. What hasn't changed, however, is the distinctively great sound, portability and compact design of the Piaggero Series. The Yamaha NP12 has two 2.5w speakers, the power of the speakers can below for those who want to make presentations in public, however, the sound quality of these speakers is quite good. This is great for analysing your performance levels, highlighting just how suitable the NP-12 is for beginners and novices looking to become more skilled. Speakers aren’t anything special but still offer good sound quality and volume, although the audio output means you can connect to external speakers. The same goes for the volume knob. It’s smooth plastic, but the actual turning of it barely gives any resistance, which means it’s difficult to make precise volume changes. These are non-issues for most beginners, as the keys and sounds are of top importance. Walk-in, carrying the NP12 with one hand, and play - it's that easy anywhere thanks to the new slim, light and compact design. High Quality, Authentic Piano tone For beginners, I consider the NP-32 a top value buy, but I’ll also admit that there area few omissions that make it feel slightly less fully-fledged than its other competitors. Would you have any suggestions? Something to travel, small and practical … I thought of a controller but the keys would not be good, there would be no sounds needing a cell phone or tablet …
