The basic fonts and icons print nicely but you'll want a higher resolution for more detailed images (Image credit: Future) Replacing paper and tape rolls is as easy as opening the lid and popping in a new roll; to the sides of the roll are two circular holders that need to be manually pulled together to hold the roll in place. Aligning the paper roll isn't automatic as in some other label makers (read my Epson XP-6100 review for a good example of an automated device).The service from supplier deserves a 10-star. The printer itself is nice and does the job well. HOWEVER, I have 2 issues that negatively affects a full rating: Please make sure Bluetooth is switched ON on your mobile device. The printer needs to be searched for and connected via the NIIMBOT app, particularly important for iOS users. Directly using the phone's Bluetooth to connect the printer may fail. And please also make sure that when installing the NIIMBOT app, it is granted permission to use the phone's Bluetooth.

Thermal printers needn't be boring, but is the Niimbot B21 style over substance?

To turn on the printer, press and hold the switch button for 3 seconds. To turn off the printer, also press and hold the switch button for 3 seconds. When you have printed at least one label designed in the app and while the printer is on, press the switch button once, and it will repeat the same printing once.
