Tool - Lateralus Limited Edition x2 LP Vinyl Album - HiFix

a b Christgau, Robert (November 27, 2001). "Turkey Shoot 2001". The Village Voice . Retrieved February 24, 2018. Lateralus is the third album by the band Tool. The album was subject to a great deal of both fan and critical anticipation, at the time of its release. Ænima (the band’s previous album) had been a commercial and critical success, but plans for a follow-up album had been delayed for nearly half a decade due to legal struggle between Tool and it’s label Volcano Records. In 2000, Maynard Keenan released his first album for his side project A Perfect Circle, which while successful, only caused more fervor for the next Tool album. Partlysourced from Mp3 rubbish floating around on p2p networks in the napster era, some of which isn’t even tool (Wrong way). So for comparison sake we're comparing the cd played on Naim CD3 versus vinyl on LP12 Cirkus with OL dc200 motor\Origin Live Silver\Linn Troika via MF LP2 mono phono amps\XPSU. Listening through Sennheiser HD600 via World Audio Design HD83 headphone amp. Though the CD3 is a very capable performer it's probably fair to say that it's rather out-gunned here.

Time moves on and finally Tool have re-released on vinyl. On a random visit to HMV there was Lateralis on limited edition picture disk. Still brutally expensive to the point where I sadly walked away... and resisted for all of 24 hours.

Regarding collectors or such. Or is it just crap? Jump ahead 16 years later and my dad got this girl pregnant, who turned out to be my mom. It was 1987 and a whole bunch of lame dance music was ruling the world, like Hitler or Jesus or something. But all of the sudden, albums like Metallica's ...And Justice for All, Celtic Frost's Into the Pandemonium, Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime, and Slayer's South of Heaven came out. That's when I was born.

This is the vinyl release of unknown quantity that became available since around 2011 with no official release date information confirmed. I’m from India and my boyfriend in Portugal is a HUGE Tool fan and loves vinyl. I’d love to send him a good one as a present but the more I read about it, the more confused I’m getting. Please help me out…I don’t want to get ripped off and send him a fake one!

Someone has taken all of the randomly labeled tool mp3’s that floated around in the Napster era and made a bootleg vinyl from them. There’s a nice Tool font used, and some Pink Floyd-ish cover art. The vinyl itself is blue. Santa Monica, a sublime cover isn’t actually even Maynard or Tool. The avatar is William Ewart Gladstone, and I should think he's turning, nay spinning in his grave right now". I just got a copy of undertow new from jbhifi and I think it’s a copy, had bubbles and dents had terrible sound lots quite of pops and noise though the whole thing, the hole in the record is messy looks like someone used a pencil to punch though it, going to return it tomorrow

The ones who get hurt by MP3s are not so much companies or the business, but the artists, people who are trying to write songs. [9]

Release

The album was a commercial success in the United States, debuting at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart with over 555,200 copies sold in its first week of release. [3] On August 5, 2003, the album was certified double platinum by the RIAA. On April 30, 2010, the album was certified gold by the BPI for sales of 100,000 in the U.K. [46] In addition, Lateralus was certified platinum by the ARIA [47] and double platinum by MC. [48] Accolades [ edit ] The LP pretty much IS the answer to those problems. It's much more dynamic, the songs practically leap out of the speakers, the top and bottom end are 'busier' and the 'shut in' feel has gone. Because of the improved frequency extremes, details are much more in focus and Danny Carey's cymbal work really shines through. A vinyl pressing with source audio from the 1993 Lollapalooza show in Irwindale. The date listed on the auction of the show is: 7/7/1993. However the show was actually in August, not July. The bootlegger has likely used the same source material as the many CD bootlegs floating around that were made from this source: “Tales From The Dark side”, “Sleep Forever”, “Westwood One” “Opium Den” . Ironically if the bootlegger was more resourceful there are plenty of great Sound Board recordings from 93’ Lollapalooza.
