About this deal

If you’ve read this review and found that you may prefer a semi-automatic bean-to-cup machine then the Breville Barista Pro will be your best alternative. T he Jura A1 has now been discontinued in some countries, but is still available from some alternative vendors or as a refurbished model. The entry-level model of the Jura range, the Jura A1, is for the minimalist coffee drinker. You’re really only compromising on the level of customization, and there is still plenty of that available for lovers of programmable coffee drinks. Release the espresso symbol, and the espresso will brew. The espresso symbol and coffee strength symbol will flash. However, you are able to make small adjustments to your beverage with its 2 grind levels, dose, and cup size levels.

However, if you are all about espresso quality then the price should not affect your buying decision. Jura’s exclusive features such as the pulse extraction process and the Aroma G3 grinder used to be exclusively on the top of the range Jura coffee machine. So to think you are getting these on the entry level option, really does represent great value.Firstly this is a single-shot espresso machine, meaning each member of the household will have to wait their turn. But unlike some of the cheaper options available the Jura A1 will go from bean to cup in less 30secs, which should mean this isn’t an issue. The system must be filled with water or the GIGA prompts you to continue a started maintenance programme.

Kilbride, D. (2017, June 8). How Does Pressure Affect Espresso Quality?. Retrieved from https://perfectdailygrind.com/2017/06/how-does-pressure-affect-espresso-quality/ Is very quiet: With the new Aroma G3 grinder, the Jura A1 grinds beans precisely and quietly which is great for when you’re trying to watch tv and brew espresso. Cons The control panel is located on top and is also quite minimalistic and intuitive. Rather than a full display, Jura opted for some classic old-style buttons featuring a choice between brewing with 7 grams of coffee (indicated by one coffee bean) or 10 grams (indicated by three coffee beans). The control panel also features some symbols that will only light up to remind you to take care of routine maintenance. The stainless steel G3 aroma grinder is built to last, probably about a decade of normal use. Plus, it is much quieter than most while coffee bean grinding. Thanks to the slower grind speed, heat build-up is reduced which preserves more of the delicious oils from your coffee beans.

Are Jura A1 for you?

Looking after your coffee machine will not only increase its lifespan but also make your coffee taste better. Following these simple steps will ensure you get a quality cuppa every time: New Jura AromaG3 grinder and P.E.P. variable pressure extraction yield a more complex coffee with 12.2% more aroma (measured by Total Dissolved Solids) There are no concerns over forgetting to switch the machine off after use either, thanks to the patented zero-energy switch. So, after around five minutes idle, the brightness of the symbols lowers to indicate the machine has entered that setting ensuring high energy efficiency. Maintenance

While it is true the A1 is not the cheapest espresso machine, when you consider the vast array of features you get, then can’t help but be impressed. Jura will claim the D6 has 7 specialty drinks, but this includes 2x espresso, 2x coffee, hot milk, and hot water so really it’s 3 programmable coffee drinks. Espresso, coffee, and cappuccino. This kind of sleight of hand to give the impression ofmore coffee optionsis industry-wide. Always read what the drinks are, never accept the number quoted as the real number. Being able to pour 2 coffee drinks, albeit not ones with milk, at a time is a useful feature and should be mentioned as a plus over the Jura A1. If you don't have a large budget, the Jura A1is probably the best option. It's a compact model that still produces tasty espresso. The machine also has the classic Jura style that means it'll look great in any kitchen. What makes the Jura D6 better than the Jura A1 is that it can brew more beverages per water tank as well as milk frothing functionality.

The latest Jura espresso makers do not require much user intervention from the user. You only need to press a button as the process is fully automated, with three separate functions self-rinsing, cleaning, and descaling. You won’t have to bother with the non-removable water reservoir, the machine cleans that, too. While there are plenty of machines that still use pods and K-cups, this super-automatic machine runs on real coffee, which is better for your taste buds and your wallet. Adding to its longevity and promoting an even more eco-friendly experience (as well as saving you money on electricity), the Jura A1 features a programmable automatic switch-off feature and a patented Zero-Energy Switch to ensure high energy efficiency. Do Not Buy The Jura A1 If… The milk frother does a decent job of whipping up soft and frothy milk for cappuccino. It's not fully automated when making milky coffees - you'll need to make the espresso first then add the milk - but the frothing is all done for you. Our only complaintis that the milk islukewarm rather than hot. Thanks to the Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System and the PEP, the Jura A1 allows the ground coffee to develop its full flavours and aromas, resulting in a high-quality espresso shot with a delightful layer of crema on top.

Jura Giga 5 Coffee Machine Troubleshooting

When it comes to the Jura A1’s programmability, it is very simple and does not have a high level of programmability. The Moonlight S8 can make a variety of drinks, including lattes, ristretto and cappuccino. It does this using a combination of the company's Pulse Extraction Process and a separate milk foam dispenser.
