Auch was die Charaktere angeht, hat Tom Fletcher definitiv das Niveau von Band 1 Aufrecht erhalten. Natürlich haben wir auch in diesem zweiten Band wieder William Trudel, das wohl süßeste, sympathischste, herzlichste, liebevollste, selbstloseste und mutigste Kind, das mir jemals in einem Kinderbuch unter die Augen gekommen ist. Hier hat Tom Fletcher einen wirklich großartigen und sehr besonderen Buchhelden geschaffen, den man selbst als Leser einfach nur in die Arme nehmen und knuddeln möchte. Obwohl die Bücher aufeinander aufbauen und es sicherlich besser ist, die Bücher in ihrer chronologischen Reihenfolge nach Erscheinen zu lesen, bin ich der Meinung, dass man, aufgrund der Storylines, die Bücher auch unabhängig voneinander lesen kann und es nicht zwingend notwendig ist, Teil 1 zu kennen, um den zweiten Teil zu lesen. Er erzählt die Geschichte nicht nur wahnsinnig mitreißend, sondern auch sehr bildhaft, gleichzeitig aber auch kindgerecht, sodass junge Leserinnen und Leser keinerlei Probleme haben sollten, die Geschichte zu verstehen oder ihr zu folgen. Besonders gut hat mir auch diesmal wieder gefallen, dass Tom Fletcher die Leser in seinen Erzählungen direkt anspricht. Sowas mag ich immer sehr gerne, ganz besonders bei Kinderbüchern. Es schafft immer wieder eine intensivere Verbindung zum Autor und zu der Geschichte, wie ich finde. Nachdem mich im letzten Jahr schon der erste Teil rund um den Weihnachtosaurus begeistert hat, habe mich so sehr auf diese Fortsetzung gefreut. Another great book by Mr Tom Fletcher, I enjoyed this one just as much as the first and considering it’s a kids book about Christmas, I was surprised by how much I engaged with it.Was ihren Vater angeht jedoch, nun ja, er hat in diesem Teil den Platz eingenommen, den Brenda im ersten hatte und wurde ziemlich schnell zu dem von mir am meist verhassten Charakter dieses Buches.
