My Gramma was born on Tin Street in a row house – I have a picture with the name Tin Street and another of the narrow house – with my grandmother and her sisters out front. She left in 1914 for Canada. I guess I am not too swift with these interactive maps yet but she always asked me to say hello to the Beatles. Her name was Leah Topping and she worked in the cotton mills. Any idea where this street might be? Thank you. One of the London bombers, Mohammad Sidique Khan, was briefly scrutinised by MI5 who determined that he was not a likely threat and he was not put under surveillance. [74] Unsettled at the start of this period, with showers, outbreaks of rain and generally breezy, although the strongest of the winds associated with this system will likely affect France as opposed to the UK, there does still remain the possibility of disruptive winds accompanying further heavy rain across southern areas. Into next week, it looks to stay predominantly unsettled with areas of low pressure bringing further rain or showers and brisk winds at times. However towards the middle of the month there is the possibility of slightly more settled, drier conditions developing, particularly further to the north. There is also the risk of colder temperatures, particularly overnight, though nothing unusually cold for the time of year is currently signalled.

I limited myself to the area within Queens Drive for a few reasons. Firstly, I need to stop somewhere! Queens Drive provides the perfect boundary, encircling the city as it does. In the future I may add streets outside this boundary. For neatness’ sake, I’ve clipped roads which cross Queens Drive and head off into the surburbs. My second reason is that by far the most frequent requests for road locations are from within this area. So all in all, it made sense to release this tool with the current data, and expand later on if possible. According to a book by Chris Allen published in 2005, the British media had before the bombings portrayed Muslims in a highly derogatory way and failed to distinguish between mainstream Muslims and extremist groups. There had also been a growing trend in young British Muslims feeling "alienated" with the British state, fuelled especially by the UK's foreign policy regarding the Iraq War. [47] A YouGov poll showed that 88% of British Muslims did not justify the bombings, while 6% did.
