About this deal

It’s suitable for a camera with maybe one or two lenses. At least, this will leave enough breathing room if you shoot with an APS-C or full-frame camera. If you use a smaller camera system, such as Micro Four Thirds, you’ll be able to fit more. 6L I’m a smaller framed guy, so often messenger and larger style sling bags (such as the Everyday Sling 10L version) can look and feel too bulky on me.

If I didn't switch it around often for a wrist strap or hadn't bought it first tho, I'd totally be using the Slim Strap. Most of the time I use just one with my Sony A7iii , or both if I am using the bag to transport my Mavic Pro . I attach the cord to a small key chain ring and since then the problem is gone. Attaching the plate to a tripod takes a little bit more care with the ring but is still possible. The official examples are useful, though I do think you’ll be really stuffing your sling if you follow them exactly. I prefer to fill a bag up to a maximum of 70% or so, as this makes lens changing or grabbing an item from the bottom much easier. Comfort Though small, the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L is a tough little bag. Its outer layer is double poly-coated 400D nylon, a lightweight and durable material that protects against abrasion and rips. The material’s water resistance is reinforced via DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to provide a hydrophobic waterproof shell. All outer material is 100 per cent recycled, which is great news for sustainability. The hardware carried by the Everyday Sling is robust, as are the Peak Design UltraZips. These zips are also weather-resistant, as to not undermine the waterproofing of the material.

All these organizational features make using the Sling a breeze. When using it primarily as a camera bag, I find it very easy to store accessories like batteries, and change batteries or lenses using one hand, with the bag acting as a temporary ‘desk’. We’ve been testing the Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L for approximately a month in Detroit, Michigan, taking it out on long days shooting photos or capturing b-roll for our Youtube channel. It’s obvious the folks at Peak Design put a lot of thought and energy into this sling, intuiting the needs of photographers and videographers everywhere. Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L V2 In Detroit Today, we’re going to take a look at the Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L (V2). We’ve already reviewed the three liter size. Basically, the 6L version is the same as the 3L version only, you know, larger by three liters. Plus, the 6L version has a tablet sleeve.

The 10L when fully loaded is almost pushing it a bit in terms of size and weight, but I think its versatility more than makes up for it. Both versions are comfortable to wear. If you have a particularly small frame, perhaps the 10L could be a bit on the chunky end for you. For me, it’s just about the maximum size for a sling. 6L It's better in several ways too, no metal, the leather pad is a better shoulder cushion, and the slider mechanism is more akin to the pricey Artisan & Artist straps than Peak's... It can be slid along most of the strap so there's only one, Peak's dual sliders are more cumbersome and unless you adjust both you throw the padding off center. This is what led me to the Peak Design Everyday Sling. I initially bought the 6-liter version as a gift for my partner, but soon got a 10-liter version for myself as well. This review is based on using both the 6L and 10L. Everyday Sling 10LWe’ve found that a purse-style of carry works the best—on your side, beneath an arm—probably because it has nowhere to slide. Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L V2 Tripod Carry Actually, Custom SLR came out with a design that's directly equivalent to Peak's just last month, it's called the Slim Strap... I looked at some ways to attach a bottle to the shoulder strap using a loop — and that will probably be my solution. There is also another way to add a bit of capacity for such items, which is to use the two attachment straps that enable you to attach some items to the bottom of the bag. I’ve found this useful for attaching a raincoat or large (e.g. 1 liter) water bottle when going on a hike. And the Midnight and Ash colorways are both made from bluesign® certified fabrics, something we always appreciate. Speaking of environmentalism, as of January 2020, Peak Design is a designated B Corp. We’ll let the folks at B Corps explain, “Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.” Yeah, we think it’s awesome too. Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L V2 Zippers While the individual components are the same, we’ve found the overall carry slightly less comfortable and less versatile on the 6L version than on the 3L version. One thing that felt a bit missing to me was a bottle holder. To be fair, I’m not sure how Peak Design could have added one without compromising the aesthetics too much. Nevertheless, it doesn’t take away the fact that it doesn’t have a bottle holder, and I sometimes wish it had one. (Or some other area separated from my electronics gear.) The folding divider is handy. Most of the time it's used as a simple divider, but I have been able to fold it down when travelling to provide extra storage for loose cables, wrist straps and a card reader. It also provides me with peace of mind, knowing that the setup isn’t going to require any reconfiguring once I finally add a 23mm prime to my kit. Those who shoot with chunky primes and telephoto lenses will probably want to opt for a higher capacity Everyday Sling. The Everyday Sling 6L is highly comfortable in part due to its smaller size and thus lower weight. I’ve worn the 6L for entire days without issue. Its comfort level is just perfect. For a small kit such as this, the three-litre capacity of the Everyday Sling is perfect. All in, the Sling and camera kit weighs only 1.5kg. There’s enough space to carry everything neatly, while the optional external storage straps allow for the occasional outing with a raincoat or tripod. The 6L is made from the same ultra-strong water-resistant 100% recycled 400D double poly-coated and DWR-impregnated nylon canvas. If you take away nothing else from that sentence, you should note that the sling is durable and weather-resistant. Don’t take it on a high-speed underwater motorcycle chase, but your camera gear should be safe if you get caught in the rain.I can fit my Sony A7iii with my Samyang 35mm f/1.4 lens , spare batteries, and an assortment of other little things I may need during that day. The plate has small cutouts in each corner that allow attachment of an anchor. When connected to a strap eyelet and the plate, the camera hangs more naturally at your side when worn across your shoulder/chest as a sling. There are other products on the market that allow you to attach a strap to your camera's tripod mount, but virtually all of them must be removed if you wish to use a tripod. Integrating an Arca-Swiss compatible plate into its design means that users of the Slide can easily tripod mount their camera without making any changes to the strap setup. The Everyday Sling 3L is the edition I have not tested myself, though being the smallest it should be suitable only for a compact camera or perhaps a small mirrorless with one lens.

The hardware is made fromanodised aluminium and stainless steel, the zippers are smooth and don’t ever snag. Peak Design supply you with two of their unique “FlexFold” dividers to position however you desire and create the arrangement you need. The materials used are very sturdy and have a premium feel, while the functional design is very smart, as is typical of Peak Design. I also have to say the aesthetics are a huge step up from other competing bags out there. LowePro or Manfrotto products just scream “camera bag!”, have logos on them, or unnecessary red or yellow accent lines. Peak Design keeps it a lot more minimal and classy.

Besides some extra space, the main difference here is that the 6L size has a tablet sleeve with a magnetic closure that will fit up to an 11’’ tablet. It has plenty of padding to keep your tablet safe. You could also throw a flat book or notebook in this space. And, if you have no need for the sleeve, it lays flat and stays out of your way.
