About this deal

What the Golf is a title that has almost nothing to do with traditional golf. It follows the premise of hitting a ball into a hole, but gets progressively sillier and quirkier as you progress. The simple graphics style is charming and works perfectly with the tone of the game, and it plays incredibly smoothly on the Nintendo Switch too. I also agree with the review here about other courses, if you like golf, then you would like to have St.Andrews included, or just any other courses than the ones from the U.S. It feels like they made a game for people from the U.S, and didn't include the rest of the world. In this game, you swap out your typical golf clubs and courses for a handful of powerful explosives and puzzling layouts to work through. You have to add explosive devices to your golf ball in a strategic manner to get it into the hole, navigating physical hurdles and difficult maps along the way. There is a limited multiplayer option available, for two players only. It would have been great to see this title include even more multiplayer options, but the two player option works well and is enjoyable to play through with a friend.

Tee off at the same time with up to three other players* and race through the course to get your ball in first. Mayhem is par for the course as you hinder your opponents with dashes and Special Shots. Yoshi can dash atop a giant egg and King Bob-omb can pelt the green with explosions! In Battle Golf, watch out for obstacles like Thwomps, Chain Chomps, and banana peels as you navigate the neon-themed Super Golf Stadium. Play against Justin Thomas and 11 top pros on stunning, real-life courses including TPC Sawgrass, East Lake Golf Club, and more. If you don't want to play solo, you can always invite your friends or family to play in the multiplayer mode! Choose your character skins, golf clubs and compete in a tournament for the title of the best golfer! This is one of the most unique golf games available on the Nintendo Switch. It combines abandoned buildings, radios and thieving squirrels in an apocalyptic yet charming environment. It’s certainly not the most realistic golf game available, but it’s a solid title for anyone who wants a fun golfing experience.Tee off as Toadette, who hits the green in the Mario Golf: Super Rush game! Boasting excellent control and cute pink pigtails, Toadette’s excellent at hitting shots with accuracy. Her high control will come in handy on the added New Donk City course—these 18 holes will have you bouncing balls off of buildings and golfing across skyscrapers! If you’re after a serious golfing game on Switch, then you can’t do better than PGA Tour 2K21 right now. After creating your character, PGA Tour 2K21 allows you to embark on a sizeable career, working your way up from the bottom. Along the way you’ll earn a host of rewards, including money that can be used to buy new clubs and clothing options, allowing you to customise your character even further. Outside of the career, you can even design your own courses before sharing them with others. There are difficulty settings so you can adjust the game to suit you (we won’t judge if you prefer an easy win), and, like any golf game on Switch should have, Neo Turf Masters has multiplayer options. You can either battle it out with players around the world for a high score, or get a friend to join you locally for a two-played battle. It might not look quite as realistic as some of its more modern counterparts, but Neo Turf Masters has a whole lot of charm all the same. 8. Infinite Minigolf If you feel like practicing a little, turn on Zen Mode and become a better golfer! Choose a map, wind parameters and practice your strokes without worrying about time or other players! PGA Tour 2K21 marks the first time the series has been released on the Switch, however, and given that HB has had to technically downgrade its game to be playable on Nintendo’s system, the results aren’t too shabby. It’s certainly the most realistic looking golf game on the Switch, although when your competition includes Golf Story and What the Golf?, we suppose ‘most realistic’ is a prize it gets purely for existing.

It’s a game designed to be played competitively with fellow players in the same room. You’ll each take it in turns to make your way around a number of courses, choosing either 3, 6 or 9 holes. Like any good golf game, there’s a variety of clubs to choose between; so whether you’re on the green, in the rough or on the fairway you’ll want to change your club to match. Motion controls make it a lot of fun too – just be careful not to hit anyone when you swing your Joy-Con!This is one of my favorite games on the list by far. It’s fun and offers a unique POV on the golf video game niche, creating an enjoyable experience for anyone who’s a fan of the RPG genre. Party Golf Want to sprint a golf course or two with Mario and chums? You can do that in Mario Golf: Super Rush. The latest entry in the Mario Golf series, Super Rush features an adventure mode in which you import or create a Mii before embarking on a journey of golf enlightenment. Unfortunately it’s not very long, but it’s fairly fun while it lasts and is a good way to learn the game’s mechanics. Outside of adventure mode, there’s a single player challenge mode, and of course you can play a game of golf against friends, either online or offline. Infinite Minigolf is a premium example of a modern mini golf game for the Switch. It’s a great party game, and offers lots of solo play options as well. It plays well, the controls aren’t too complex and the user generated maps make it very enjoyable to play through. What the Golf? There are other issues too, mostly of a technical kind. The course designer present in other versions of the game is here and fully featured, which is massively welcome, but the whole thing slows to such a crawl that it’s an exercise in patience: while we appreciate HB Studios’ efforts in making sure the Switch version isn’t missing any features, this one is maybe a bit too much for the Switch to handle.

Visually, this game is intriguing. The apocalyptic game levels are well made, and there’s plenty of interesting decorations scattered around to add extra realism. It’s worth noting that these signs and decorations do contain some obscene language, so bear this in mind if you’re grabbing a game for a younger person in your life. Additional games, systems and/or accessories may be required for multiplayer mode. Games, systems and some accessories sold separately. Create and personalize your MyPLAYER with equipment and apparel from brands you love. Design your ultimate course with 1,000s of custom options. Party Golf is an absolute gem, and it should be one of the first ones you consider when you’re looking for the best Nintendo Switch golf games on the market right now. Mario Golf: Super RushThere’s a heap of Mario sports games available, and Mario Golf: Super Rush is arguably one of the most enjoyable installments to get your hands on right now. It’s fast-paced, lighthearted and very enjoyable to sit and play through with friends.

Prove you’ve got what it takes to become FedExCup Champion. Take on PGA TOUR Pros during your very own career, earning rewards and gear along the way. Hit the green with up to four players locally* or online** and golf with friends from the Super Mario™ series like Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and more! Modes range from Standard Golf to the energetic Speed Golf and an exciting Golf Adventure. Simple motion or button controls make it easy for both new players and seasoned pros to drive and putt. This title is weird, but it’s an absolute gem if you’re looking for a unique single player experience.Mario Golf: Super Rush certainly isn’t the most challenging golf game on the market, but it is truly enjoyable for relaxed, casual gaming. The customization is incredibly smart, the game plays smoothly and there’s plenty for both solo and multiplayer adventures. Dog Gone Golfing Finally, this title is a brilliant example of how well golf works as a puzzle game. A Little Golf Journey is simple and stylish, with easy controls and plenty of content to keep you occupied. One of my favorite things about this title is the party mode, which allows you to split the screen down the middle and play a game with a friend. It’s unfortunate that it only stretches to two players, but the format works well and it makes for an enjoyable experience. This game is all about speed, precision and decision-making. Compete in tournament mode on random maps with different rules. Score as many points as possible by hitting the ball in the center of the target, be first in a race to hit the ball into the hole before others do, or find the best way to beat everyone in a mini-golf with various obstacles!
