About this deal

The performance of the EAP660HD is evaluated with the help of an iperf2 server and client. The first test is done through the Uplink port at 2.5Gbps to get an upper limit of the bandwidth. Next, the wireless bandwidth is determined at various distances over a Wi-Fi 6 connection. The test is done in a multi level house with drywalls. testing ping with wifiman against google, my local nas, and the gateway (router) - both were excellent. Fluctuated between 2 and 6 ms on local devices. The only complaint is that it is physically imposing and isn't the kind that will go unnoticed. The EAP660HD will provide a great value for money with its quad-core CPU and a 4x4 radio. It can also be managed remotely thanks to TP-Link’s Omada SDN cloud service which is free if a dedicated computer is available. TP-Link has once again shown that a good product can be obtained without costing an arm. Omada mesh may require upgrading the firmware.Omada Mesh, Seamless Roaming, and Captive Portal require the use of Omada SDN controllers. Please go to Omada MeshProduct List to find all the models supported by Omada mesh technology, and refer to the User Guides of Omada SDN controllers for configuration methods.

Seamless Roaming requires that clients need to support 802.11k/v and may require additional set up. Performance may vary depending on the client device. devices running iperf with bandwidth limiting (25 or 50 mbps…I forget which), then playing PS remote play from my phone to my hardwired PS5 - the EAP660 HD resulted in a very playable experience. There were small hiccups here and there but overall it was good. The U6-LR on the other hand performed poorly. The remote play app wouldn’t even establish a connection to the PS5 to start remote play. It returned an error saying the connection wasn’t strong or fast enough. I also seem to recall issues even executing iperf with all 5 devices on the Ubiquiti AP, so the remote play issue may have surfaced with even less than 5. Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the use of Omada Cloud-Based Controller. Please go to Omada Cloud-Based Controller Product List to find all the models supported by Omada Cloud-Based Controller. The space for Wi-Fi 6 access points has seen a lot of competition recently. More people are working from home and using a room as their office. The EAP660HD fits well in this setting by having a reasonable range and being speedy. As is usual for APs in this price range, the EAP660 HD doesn’t support ultrawide 160MHz channels, but it still mustered a very creditable performance in our Wi-Fi tests. Large file copies between a Windows 10 Pro desktop equipped with a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 802.11ac USB adapter and a server on the LAN averaged 105MB/sec at close range and 96MB/sec at 10m. That top number isn’t far off the maximum throughput of the supplied Gigabit switch, and makes this one of the best-performing business APs we’ve seen. The Omada management web app isn’t as good as Unifi imo; the UX just isn’t as good, and there are some features missing. But it’s close enough. iperf3 on my iPhone 13 Pro in various rooms throughout our house. The performance was very similar between the two APs. It ranged between 400 and 800 mbps with an average of 650. Both achieved > 900 mbps steady when connected to my wifi6 Dell laptop and I think also my 2015 MacBook Pro. Port with PoE+ for Easy Installation】Armed with a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, the EAP660 HD delivers exceptional multi-gigabit performance and boosts total internet throughput for faster, better Wi-Fi. Supports standard 802.3at PoE+ for flexible deployment and convenient installation.

If you have selected recycling, please ensure your existing appliance is disconnected (and defrosted where relevant) before our team arrive. Ultra-Fast True Wi-Fi 6 Speeds】Designed with the latest wireless Wi-Fi 6 technology featuring 1024QAM and Long OFDM Symbol, the EAP660 HD boosts dual-band Wi-Fi speeds up to 3550 Mbps. With 8 Spatial streams, multi-user throughput is incredibly increased to drive more applications. PS remote play (multiple 30-45 min sessions) - both were excellent. There were occasional blips with both, but they were few and far between, and they lasted a very short time. On one occasion with the EAP660 HD it seemed like the quality (resolution) decreased. Force quitting and restarting the app restored it to normal. The EAP660HD can put out a maximum of 1.53Gbps through its Uplink port. For the following test points, iperf2 was run using the HE.Net application for Android. At a one meter distance, the speed drops to 782Mbps and further decreases to 431Mbps and 183Mbps at seven meters for two different floors. The speed eventually reaches 42Mbps outside of the house at ten meters. The results fall in line with other similar access points. The competition

bufferbloat testing via waveform’s web app - both were good. I seem to remember Bs, As, and an A+ but might not remember correctly. FYI that I’m using a Ubiquiti ER-4 as a router with smart qos enabled. This is connected to a Verizon fios 1gb symmetrical internet plan. This setup has resulted in consistent A+ scores on hardwired devices. High-Density Connectivity】OFDMA and Uplink & Downlink MU-MIMO increase network capacity by up to 4× versus Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) in high-density environments to connect more devices simultaneously.
