About this deal

This set of men's golf clubs also includes a low profile fairway wood and hybrid golf clubs that have been designed with a lower centre of gravity to allow for the maximum distance and performance on the fairways while offering brilliant accuracy on every shot. A hybrid will flatten the learning curve significantly when you are trying to master your long irons and fairway woods. TOUR MALLET PUTTER - Putter with perimeter weighting helps keep clubface straight on off-centre impacts while being easier to align in the first place. But these observations were all cursory. The McGregor CG300 set looked good and even felt good in the hands. But would this translate to the course? The neophyte golfer gets everything he/she needs in the McGregor CG300. Here is a breakdown of each club in the set: Driver

Golf manufacturers assemble their golf clubs to an average size and flex but that does not mean that you fit that mould. The Cobra Airspeed set comes with 2 fairway woods with carbon crowns for exceptional feel and enhanced sweet spot. Pros:The fairway wood comes in at 18 degrees of loft (so essentially a five wood), whilst the hybrid at 24 degrees converts to around a 4 iron. Couple this with a 6-SW iron set and the gaps are just about right for a 10-club set, with beginners and higher handicappers having plenty of clubs at their disposal to hit for a wide range of yardages.

It is vital no matter if you are a beginner, average or low handicap golfer that you have the right equipment to suit your swing. Irons – 7,8,9 (Graphite) Graphite irons with perimeter weighting to offer extreme forgiveness across the entire club face Any golfer would be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the CG3000 clubs, which come at such a low price compared to other starter sets or premium clubs. The set comes with all the right clubs, with a couple of customisable options that allow a beginner to get started on the right foot. I started the testing session with some full shots, and really liked the low flight the Tour Grind wedge produced. I don’t like to see the ball get too high as it feels out of control, but that wasn’t an issue at all as they launched pretty low with loads of spin. Distance isn’t an important measurable with wedges but they went exactly the same distance as the Vokeys I currently play.

This is another great set for beginners as it features a collection of very forgiving and user-friendly irons. The set includes a 460cc driver, fairway wood, hybrid, irons 6-SW and a putter. Pros: Something else that works well with these irons is how well you can make a combo set with them with Takomo’s 301 CB iron. Not everyone wants to look down at a blade 4 and 5-iron, so having the added help and forgiveness from the CB is a brilliant option. Speaking of the face, when you look down on this putter you can see the metal face insert that includes the ARC Tech face milling that aims to provide an improved roll and distance control. On either side of this is two yellow rubber inserts. I wasn’t sure what would happen to the ball upon colliding with these but after a couple of purposeful toe strikes, I didn’t really see any difference in roll or distance.

The CG3000 set has a 13 degree driver, which sends the ball high and is a perfect amount of loft for a beginner that tends to swing the club slower. It also feels fantastic off the face, lively and reassuringly solid. The irons also have a superb amount of forgiveness, something that is needed for those starting out in the game, whilst the wedges and putters felt surprisingly responsive too. A slight negative is the fairway wood and hybrid, which didn't feel as springy off the face as we'd have liked. Driver (Graphite) A 460cc titanium driver featuring an oversized design for greater forgiveness on off-centre hits.Offset is a higher handicapper's friend though so golfers will enjoy how user-friendly these clubs are. Despite the average feel, performance was fine with the fairway and hybrid. Loading...
