About this deal

i have given this book 4 out of 5 stars, however i did pay for this book as it was only 98p which would usually get itself inn the 5 star rating but as i don't think i will reread it i have given it 4 stars however, i would recommend this book for anyone looking for a good psychological thriller that keeps you guessing. Almost immediately things start falling apart for Joe, as he get threatening messages from Ben, the man his wife might be having an affair with, while this same man has disappeared and Joe is being suspected by the police, of having killed Ben. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Stacy Willingham’s masterful use of dual timelines adds intrigue and atmosphere to this compelling mystery, while her immersive writing draws readers into our protagonist’s increasingly unstable state of mind. I think we know the answer to those questions, and Joe definitely knew the answer to two of these questions.

Let me preface this whole review by saying: I love a good plot twist, but I love it when that twist is done right. It's intense, insane, enthralling, and the chapters literally whiz by, helped massively by the fact that one chapter blends SO seamlessly into the next one that you just can't help but keep reading, until your eyes are incredibly sore because you've been starting at your Kindle screen for over 4 hours. Another thing that propelled me through this rather-thick-for-a-thriller book: the promise of a twist. Although this starts by examining a likely scenario which is perfectly believable and the technology intricacies have been pinned down brilliantly to make most of the story potentially plausible, it all feels rather like trial by technology and social media and for me it did become a little repetitive. He's also rather meek, mild-mannered, considerate of others and unbelievably too forgiving, but a likable guy nonetheless who always, always plays by the rules. I am beyond excited to have discovered this author, and now I’m even more excited to learn that he has another book out! Joe has the perfect life a loving wife, and an adorable little boy, but as in all good psychological thrillers things aren’t always as they seem. And really, one of the greatest joys of crime fiction is being given those clues alongside the protagonist—the best books are just sly enough that you won’t figure the mystery out, even though the clues were there all along, but you’ll love each moment of the investigative process.

I do think the ending redeemed the story as I thought I had an idea where the story was going but my theory was not 100% accurate. I figured out rather early on what was really going on, which turned this into a boring reading experience. I absolutely loved the short chapters and the cliffhangers - it really kept me turning the pages and was created a super speedy pace.

Here’s the thing, the author never said William had autism, but he did make a point of mentioning a whole lot of behaviors that, when appearing together, could indicate the presence of this condition. When Joe sees his wife having a confrontation with family friend Ben, it's the first hint that she's been lying to him - about everything.

prompted by his son who is eager to share his recently acquired award with his mom, Joe chooses to follow his wife.Logan does a perfect job of introducing us to likeable characters with enough humour and honest observations to make it engaging and realistic but then cranks up the suspense, tension, complications, revelations and twists to create a gripping, dramatic and exciting ending. Joe Lynch is a happily married man with a beautiful wife and a gorgeous little boy when he stumbles into the middle of a scenario he doesn't understand and his whole world starts to crumble. Crime by the Box will deliver a hand-selected, newly-released hardcover mystery, thriller, or suspense novel right to your door on a monthly basis.
