About this deal

interesting aside, i don't get the sense of much l'eau d'issey dna, but if i smell my skin between hour 3 and 4, i smell a smooth and serene citrus. I also feel like this has the potential to smell like a "cheap masculine body spray" in fact, I am pretty sure Axe has a spray that closely resembles this scent without intentionally trying to copy it. This is so sad: the opening is beautiful green, and then after a too short while it *poof* is totally gone, just a very fade close to skin drydown remains. After a short while it does soften a little and you're left with this lovely pine forest and rosemary aroma which seems to last for ages, I could still smell it a good 10 hours after spraying and it stays on clothes even longer.

Probably a little to dressy for the office, but also probably among the most demure of dressy scents. first off i am a fan of the original issey miyake, when i seen issey bleue i imagined a more aquatic brighter version of the original, so i bought it.I don't recognize the impression with the herbal shower in any way, it is rather the lime with the mandarin which leaves a somewhat stinging impression. Cool winds blowing through patches of herbs and spices, an almost overwhelming mélange kept in check by the salted breeze. this does indeed smell like "old man" its not necessarily a bad smell but it is nearly impossible for a younger person (25 and under) to pull off.

Be patient and once the top notes calm down, the perfume turns into a combo of lemongrass, rosemary, nasturtium, anise and patchouli, which makes it totally unique, where the nasturtium is very prominent and smells exactly as this edible flower in real life. I like to believe that L'Eau Bleue d'Issey was the competitor for Givenchy's Blue Label, and I do find similarities in between the two, though Issey took a very green-herbal turn whilst keeping the aquatic aspects. The fragrance is described as woody and spicy, but like almost all "blue-marked" fragrances it also has a distinct freshness component. It lasts throughout the entire life of the scent, only mixed slightly with the citrus, but that lasts all but a couple minutes. Herby and masculine, this fragrance projects me sitting under the big oaktree on the very top mountain overlooking to the ocean. If I'm being perfectly honest, this reminds me as if Bleu de Chanel, Eternity for Men, and Dylan Blue got all mixed together. I live and grew up in the PnW and this has nothing to remind me of the outside nature or a starry night.

I'm in 100% agreement on rosemary being intense here in the opening but surprised not to see the anise or ginger rated higher. It's no longer listed on the Issey Miyake site so I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that it has been discontinued (perfume houses tend to list their perfumes for a year or two after they've been discontinued, sometimes even more). But I do think this is special in its own way idk why because it is very close to those ones I mentioned. Dirty Blue Leather, its a very odd pairing for a fragrance, it has some freshness up top but then it hits you with heavy dark tones right after, may not be as easy to process for casual noses, this is def not your typical casual daytime blue or freshie. Don't focus on, or get overly distracted by the strong rosemary scent in the open, as I initially did.

I agree with other reviewers who mentioned this works well on rainy days rather than hot summer days.Opens with a burst of lemongrass, and orange which smells a little synthetic but only for a few minutes, then the lavender with a hint of rose kicks in, after 10 minutes you smell like a pine forest, dries down to a cedar and strong oakmoss scent.
