Eskdale is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the fells or the banks of the River Esk, which flows from Scafell at the top of the valley down to the estuary at Ravenglass, an old fishing village complete with a ruined Roman bath house! My only criticisms are that the upstairs shower was not very powerful and had my husband been able to join me for the weekend we may have found the bed a little small - mind you, we are both fatties!

The cottage is 10 miles from Seaton in Devon and we cycled around the area during our stay, visiting Beer, Colyton, Axminster, Axmouth, Honiton and enjoyed spending time watching wildlife at Seaton Wetlands and Colyford Common. Along this beautiful stretch of coast are a number of beach cafes and the Crab and Lobster pub at Forelands.There are two outside seating areas, a small courtyard outside the barn, providing a great spot to sit with a coffee and appreciate the beautiful morning sunrise, with a further point which is shared with the owners and accessed across the farmyard to sit and take in the countryside views of the valley beyond. This superb semi-detached cottage can be found just over half a mile from the centre of Disley, which is best known as the home to the National Trusts magnificent Lyme Park. The cottage is very comfortable, spacious, homely, inviting, warm, quiet and enables you to have a very very relaxed holiday. With an overhead Velux window, take advantage of the dark skies at night and lie back and watch the stars.

Make the most of the incredible garden, which has been meticulously designed to be a wonderful place to relax, with beautiful landscaping throughout, expansive lawned areas for your furry friends to run about on, and a variety of seating areas where you can socialise in the sun, read a captivating book, or dine alfresco. After your dose of undulating countryside, walking and cycling, you may wish to head to the coast, nearby there is a choice of wonderful seaside spots including Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed, TV, vaulted ceiling and en-suite with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.Disley Station offers a direct service to both Manchester and Buxton in just 30 minutes meaning the hustle and bustle of city life can be combined with the peace and tranq. There were a couple of places we thought she might try to sneak through but they were easily blocked, giving us great peace of mind.

With free private parking, the property is 16 km from Buxton Opera House and 19 km from Victoria Baths. The place was so comfortable and had all the things you would need for a great holiday the hosts Angie and Steve were so helpful and the welcome we received was heart warming I loved the Chickens Bubbles.We loved the garden and peaceful setting with so much nature around including the wonderful variety of birds.
