For more information on the different types of roses we offer and therefore what may be most suitable for your garden, see our handy guide. How will my rose arrive? Roses are quintessential cottage garden plants. Their lovely colours and fragrance evoke that perfect English summer. Climbing roses like ‘ Peach Melba’ and ‘Climbing Masquerade’ provide gorgeous height and structure trailing over trellis or climbing an archway in the garden. Famous for their gorgeous scent and double petalled blousy heads, whether a repeat flowering floribunda, a trained formal rose standard or a large flowered hybrid tea, you’ll never regret including a rose plant in your garden. When is the best time to plant roses? Most rose varieties supplied will flower the following summer after planting and reach their normal full height by the end of the first year planted (excluding Climbers & Ramblers)

Propagate by softwood cuttings in early to mid spring, hardwood cuttings in late summer to autumn or by chip budding in summer Suggested planting locations and garden types Gardening Essentials: Add a sachet of premium slow release rose feed to give your rose the best chance to thrive. Add gardening essentials such as gloves or pruners, for the ultimate rose gardening gift. Each anniversary traditionally has a specific gift associated with it, and for the 60th wedding anniversary it is diamond. For a traditional gift with an eco-friendly twist, Diamond Days Rose will sparkle happily in the sunshine with its beautiful white flowers. With its rich, citrus scent and shapely flowers that are ideal for cut displays, this is an impressive rose for an impressive milestone!New season potted roses may be bare-stemmed with no leaves when supplied or with emerging buds and shoots GIVES NEW PLANTS THE BEST POSSIBLE START - Apply rootgrow by sprinking the appropriate amount into the planting hole, then place the plant in the hole ensuring the roots are touching the granules. Once applied your plants will begin to thrive better than before, improving plant establishment and subsequently bettering flowering and fruiting. Hybrid Tea) The perfect gift. 'Jeanne Moreau' 'White Parfum de Provence'. Continuously produced, large white hybrid tea blooms with a lovely fragrance. Dark Glossy foliage. Excellent for cutting. Bred by Meilland.

The bare root rose should now be held with one hand at the right depth with the roots spread out, whilst the first of the soil is returned, either by hand or with a spade. When approximately half the hole is full the rose can be left alone and the soil firmed in by foot. The remainder of the soil can then be returned and firmed in the same way.Alternatively, choose a rose that is their favourite colour or has a meaningful name – remember, if the gift comes from the heart you can’t go wrong! Q. What to buy for 60th wedding anniversary gifts? CONTAINS MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI - A naturally occuring organism, Mycorrhizal Fungi has been benefiting plants in our world for millions of years. Rootgrow is a granular feed that is commonly used to promote vigourous and robust growth, even in poor soils Containerised roses are available throughout the year (although there are more available during the summer months) and are roses that we have planted into containers during the winter months when the plants are dormant. If purchasing a container rose early in the year it is advisable to wait until early June before planting out into the garden. This is to give the roots system a chance to establish without damaging the young fibrous roots. In summer months containerised roses must be watered daily to ensure good health and maximum blooms. The advantage of buying a rose in a pot is that you can select the plant yourself during a visit to our nursery and gardens, giving you the opportunity to see the rose in flower prior to purchasing. Containerised roses are usually available for delivery within 3 - 5 days unless otherwise stated. What better way to celebrate a Diamond 60th milestone than with this stunning rose! Perfect for a diamond wedding anniversaries or a 60th birthday, this rose will sparkle in the sunshine year after year! Diamond Days Rose has pale cream flowers, and a rich, sweet perfume with hints of citrus. With its shapely flowers and strong fragrance, this rose is also perfect for cut displays, bringing the joy indoors. Long after the bouquets have faded this rose will still be thriving; a gift of beautiful roses that can be cherished for years to come. About Diamond Days Rose For a bare root rose the hole should be wide enough to allow the roots to be spread out and deep enough so that the base of the stems are just covered. We recommend using a good quality compost, like John Innes No 3, especially if planting roses into pots. We would also advise adding a proprietary rose food or bone meal into the base of the hole. A handful is enough and this should be mixed in with the soil there to avoid root scorch. A little powdered food can also be sprinkled onto the removed soil before it is returned.
