It's one of those ones that smells good in the air around you but not so good up close because of the aldehydes. It smells better after an hour or two but the strength is so weak at that point that it's not worth it.

I am a big lover of this fragrance, one of the best rose notes ever created, I cannot think where rose was used to such great effect, glorious. Trigger warning to formulation nerds: it confounds me why there's so much talk of this (and other Aramis Gentleman's Collection relaunch versions) are "shadows of their former selves. I’ll be recommending solid cologne to my friends, a much better option than traditional aftershaves. The fragrance is heavy on the rose (VERY HEAVY) so keep in mind you have to be comfortable with it, after an hour or so the blend then get less rosy to bring out those animalic and herbal notes, civet is up there too, without being skanky but truly noticable, again, some might not like that.Fantastic in the heat of summer, but it would be nice any time of year and perhaps more green in winter. Most of all, this is very similar to Aromatics Elixir, albeit a lighter and more wearable version, although I personally adore AE! All the notes on the list show up, but it definitely has the rose, civet and oakmoss, right out front, followed by patchouli.

When I first sprayed it on my skin the amazing aroma of Brazilian Rosewood with lemon and bergamot which gives it depth and a pleasant appeal. The seller kindly included a free sample tin of Big Smoke which wasn’t one that I would have purchased from its description but it has turned out to be my favourite of the three. The similarity with Aromatics Elixir (AE)is undoubtful, and since have AE in my collection, I skip this one.But the star of the opening is really the richly elegant rose note, which is bolstered by carnation. Opening with top notes of coriander, bergamot, rosewood and lemon, the fragrance moves into a floral heart of carnation, orris root, jasmine and lily. With that said, if you are young but want something more than the typical modern scent, this is a great classic fragrance that is easy and enjoyable to start your adventure.

This is essentially Aromatics Elixir pour Homme, I wore it for a few months, and was twice asked if I was wearing Clinique's great creation. Wealthy men who eat in costly restaurants and roam in suits no matter what season or occasion, wear this stuff. Immediately upon spraying I get the civet which smells a bit farty farmyard but it quickly disapates and gets in to the spicy woody rose.Although I (46 years young) love this scent, this type of juice is not the typical modern designer scent that the younger crowd might find sexy. Back in the 1970s this must have been very wearable by a female as women´s perfumes were also much stronger than contemporary stuff.

I guess the other exercise would be to smell Aramis and Azuree side by side, but I think the wonderful Azuree is only available in the US.Recently I became aware of Clinique Aromatic Elixirs and heard rumors that it was darn close to the original.
