Description

As a non-hiker, there are a lot of spare straps flapping around that I never found a real use for, but they can easily be tied up and put out of sight’s way. Shape-wise, it’s not too wide, and not too long either. The Osprey Aura 50L is just really nicely designed. Despite its impressive features and performance, the Osprey Aura 50 remains lightweight and compact. It weighs just under 4 pounds and has a capacity of 50 liters, making it an ideal choice for both short and long-distance trips. Lastly, the largest Aura 65 offers 65 liters of capacity, weighs 4.42 pounds, and features dimensions of 33.46 x 14.96 x 15.75”. Osprey Aura 50 Vs 65: Final Verdict So, should you choose the Aura 50 or Aura 65? You also get just the right number of compartments to conveniently organise your gear without making it overcomplicated.

Ultimately, the Osprey Aura 50 delivers excellent value for the price. While it may be a higher initial investment, its durability, comfort, storage capacity, and organizational features make it worth every penny. For outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize reliability and functionality, the Aura 50 is an exceptional choice that will serve you well on all your adventures. All this compression means that even if the Aura is virtually empty, the load will always be secure and balanced. They are not the heaviest models in the market, but they can limit your mobility on the trail, especially when filled to the brim. This is to say that if you are a minimalist hiker who likes to travel light, then you might want to opt for a lighter option. Another similarity comes in the way the bags are designed. Both the Osprey Aura 50 and 65 are manufactured using the same kind of material. The main construction employs an extremely durable 100D by 630D nylon fabric that offers rugged performance in tough hiking conditions. Minimalism really does work best when you’re travelling long-term. There’s a huge amount of satisfaction that comes from being able to fit everything you own into one bag, and honestly one of the biggest adjustments when returning home was being surrounded by so much STUFF. ANTI-GRAVITY HIPBELT – The suspended mesh theme continues through the padded hipbelt which wraps closely around your hips for optimal weight transfer and comfort. Featuring a Fit-on-the-Fly adjustment, the hipbelt can be adapted to suit your body perfectly, ensuring the structural fins are in the most efficient position.

When you’re on the move, especially during strenuous activities, proper ventilation is crucial to staying comfortable and reducing sweat build-up. The Osprey Aura 50 excels in this aspect with a well-designed ventilation system that helps keep you cool and dry throughout your outdoor adventures. The straps themselves are very well padded, and also feature mesh to keep them ventilated. This Osprey Aura 50L really is equipped to take on hot weather travel! My only gripe is that this strap mesh could be rough and irritating to the skin on my shoulders, so I had to wear a t-shirt rather than a smaller top whenever I made a long journey, or else wrap the straps in something. I can see what they were trying to do, though. The Osprey Aura 50 is available in X-small, Small, and Medium versions with a capacity of 44, 47, and 50 litres respectively.

It also offers extra space for any items you come across in the middle of your adventure that you might want to carry. This also means that you’ll have a better time accessing your hiking gear since they are not squeezed. The only problem is that you risk pushing the weight to an unbearable limit.

Compartments on the Osprey Aura 50L

Inside the main compartment is a hydration sleeve with a little clip to stop the bladder from drooping down to the bottom of the sleeve. This is the perfect place to pop your Osprey Hydraulics reservoir. It may also come in handy when you have to board a plane since its compact size may be allowed inside. Its accent fabric is recycled 210D high-tenacity nylon, also with a PFAS-free DWR. Its base fabric is similar: a recycled 500D high-tenacity nylon with a PFAS-free DWR.

Inside the main compartment, the Aura 50 offers plenty of space for organizing your gear. It features a large central compartment with a zippered divider, allowing you to separate your clean clothes from dirty or wet items. The compartment is also equipped with a hydration sleeve, which is compatible with a hydration reservoir (not included), making it convenient for staying hydrated on the go. While the two bags look more or less the same, there are a few differences that may not be too obvious when you compare them side by side...

Does the Osprey Aura 50L look good?

Whether you are going for an overnight trip or spending a couple of nights wild camping, the Osprey Aura will serve you diligently in both cases. For example, the extra small/small Osprey Eja 58 may be slightly smaller (55L) than the Osprey Aura AG LT 65 (63L). But the Eja’s 100D main fabric largely accounts for its low weight of just 2.717 lbs (1.232 kg). ANTI-GRAVITY SUSPENSION - Supporting everything is a LightWire, fully tensioned, peripheral frame that provides masses of support, transfers the load to your hips and flexes and moves with you for maximum comfort. In most cases, the choice between the two bags comes down to the amount of space required to comfortably fit all your supplies, especially considering that both bags come with more or less the same design and features. The bag is also available in three different versions. You can choose between the X-small, Small, and Medium iterations that come with a capacity of 60, 62, and 65 litres respectively!
