If you’re a pixel peeper, the Harman Reusable Camera doesn’t have good image quality. But that’s actually my girlfriend’s favorite features about this camera. We offer a range of photo chemicals from paper and film developers to stop bath, fixers, washaid, and toners. However, to process a film you will only need a film developer, stop bath and fixer. You now need to prepare the film for drying. Lift the film spiral out of the tank and pull the end of the film out of the spiral. Securely attach a wooden or plastic film clip to it (to get a tight grip you may have to double over the end of the film) and then hang the film from a hook or nail which should be at least 2 meters / 6ft 6in off the ground. An awkward attempt at double exposure. This was done by accidentally re-running the same roll through the Harman Reusable Camera. Just like disposables, It renders skin beautifully, and the softness makes people’s skin look it’s best!

Count the negatives: a 36-exposure film may give 37 or 38 pictures. The best way to store them is in filing sheets which take six or seven strips of six negatives, so try to cut them up in this way. (You may be able to drop a blank shot or bad exposure to do this.) Date and label the filing sheet straight away, and they are ready for making prints. Unwind the film out of the grooves of the spiral and remove any excess water by carefully running squeegee tongs or a clean piece of chamois cloth down the length of the film. (Take care as any grit caught up here will scratch the whole film). We have a range of film developers suitable for tank processing including: 3 powder developers (ID-11, MICROPHEN and PERCEPTOL) and 5 liquid developers (ILFOTEC DD-X, ILFOSOL 3, ILFOTEC LC29, ILFOTEC HC, and PHENISOL).

The flash is powered by AAA battery for fast recharge and long-life (battery included) and your camera comes with two Kentmere 400 35mm films to get you started straight out of the box.Always ensure the chemical is mixed well when adding the water for dilutions using a stirrer. The added water should be as close as possible to the processing temperature to be used - typically this will be 20C (68F). Images look their best when the light is behind the photographer, as it also tends to show bad flaring. The 30mm lens is reasonably sharp, with a bit of blur and falloff in the corners, as is expected with plastic lenses. At f/9.5, everything from about 3′ to infinity is as in focus as it can be, which is sharp enough for most anything, imo. I was way too close to get the bird in focus, but a bit of slider play and contrast adjustments in Capture One made it passable. As far as light leaks are concerned, this camera has been through a lot and still hasn’t developed a leak. I’ve dropped it plenty of times, tossed it loosely in my bag and put groceries on top of it, got it scratched up, let it sit in the sun for days, and nothing. This image shows exactly how the light from the flash falls off at a distance. Can I use the Harman Reusable camera at night? The Harman reusable can make good exposures at night with the flash. Because the camera doesn’t allow you to control the exposure settings, shooting at night without flash is nearly impossible. With the flash, you can expose people and objects between 1-2 meters away. Any object closer than 1 meter will be overexposed and out of focus. But anything further than 2 meters will be underexposed.

For our recommendations on which chemistry to use and how to prepare them please read our Beginners Guide to Choosing Chemistry for Processing Films . Film developers There isn’t anything particularly special about the Kodak FunSaver. No fancy features. No amazingly sharp lens. Nothing about it really stands out. And perhaps that’s what makes it an overall choice — it is simply exactly what you expect and works for almost everyone’s needs. Pour the ILFOSTOP stop bath solution into the tank. Agitate by turning the tank upside down twice. After 10 seconds, pour it out. The time in the stop bath is not critical but it must be at least 10 seconds. However, Ilford Imaging does produce two very inexpensive cameras, one of which is the Ilfocolor Rapid Retro Single Use Camera. This cheap, disposable camera is loaded with the only color negative film ever produced under the “Ilford” name. The film is rated at ISO 400, and with a fixed focus 31mm f/11 lens and 1/125s shutter speed, the camera (like all disposables) is best used in good light, though it does feature a decent quality flash with a 15-second recycle time. One thing to be aware of is that the GR III has no viewfinder, and also no means of attaching one. You have to be comfortable composing with the rear screen. Also, as we mentioned in our review, its autofocus can sometimes hunt in low light.

There is strong distortion closer to the edges of the lens. The edges also lose sharpness and exhibits some vignetting. That just means you have to place the subject in the center of the frame, and use the vignetting to draw attention inwards.Taking film photographs can be a long, and daunting process for many users. Pull out your light meter, change the settings, compose, manually focus, then take the shot. But this one is so simple. Point, shoot, profit The HARMAN EZ-35 is a 35mm reusable film camera with motorized load, frame advance and rewind functionality making it the ideal camera for anyone starting out in film photography or those looking for a simple point and shoot option to capture their world. For an explanation on how to dilute our recommended chemicals see our beginners guide. Processing the film With the Harman Reusable, there’s even less to consider. The only decision you need to make is turning the flash on or off. That’s it. Compose, press the shutter button, wind the film, and get ready to take the next shot. The camera has a fixed shutter speed around 1/120 of a second, 31mm focal length, and an f/10 aperture with a fixed lens that focuses to infinity after 1m. So basically, everything is “in focus,” and the image will almost always turn out if the flash is on — unless you’re trying to photograph a distant object at night.
