Are the touring and sports models also compatible with the 2019 model z900? If so, aside from maybe needing to trim the grips is the wiring all also long enough? and able to be hooked up to the ignition, for piece ofmind? January 24, 2019

I can have a Kawasaki zzrz400 performance sport. What are the best grips for my bike, thanks December 4, 2018 As long as the bars measure 22mm the grips will fit - you will need to find somewhere to mount the control unit. Additionally, the live wire feed doesn’t have a ring connector and even though there are some people who wire their grips to the ignition feed (advantage being when the ignition is off it turns the grips off automatically) and solder, many people will simply want to connect directly to their battery for ease (I’m one of these). To do this with these grips means you will have to have access to spare ring connectors and crimps. Not a big job, but at the price I’d expect a ring connector as standard.

About

I was impressed at how easily the wires connected to the battery and each other during the installation process (all being good, chunky connectors). The main wire that had to be routed through my bike’s frame and the fairing was coated in plastic for extra durability. This problem is specific to my model of bike but it might occur with others that have busy switchgear. I got around it by rotating the left switchgear as far forward as I was comfortable with and I can now at least see the LEDs on the grips, even if they're not in the optimum position. Once I was happy with the orientation I then glued the left grip in place. Unfortunately, there is no glue provided to help attach the grips, even though the instructions suggest an adhesive may be required. As the grips were fairly easy to get onto my bars additional glue would be required for a permanent fit. Heated grips have been available for motorcycles for many years and there are plenty of options around. Here are some of the best alternatives to the Oxford HotGrips Pro… If you have a naked bike or are less worried about hiding the wiring then you could do it in considerably less time. I didn't need to trim any material from the grip, but the instructions talk you through this process should you need to do that.

Customisable grips - Grip length of 125mm but can be trimmed to 120 or 115mm if required, with open ends allowing bar end weights can be fitted.

The grips are not supplied with a specific model application list but are designed for 22mm handlebars. The grips are 123mm as standard, but can be trimmed down to114mm. There are three heat settings indicated by the LED light on the grip - red (high, 45°C), white (medium, 40°C) and blue (low, 30°C). I suffer from Raynaud's condition, which means my hands and feet get cold and become numb very easily. Because of this I have these grips switched on virtually all the time, even in summer. There are several makes of heated grips on the market, each with different pros and cons as highlighted in this review . The main concern and first hurdle encountered by all is how complicated they are to fit. What I’ve found from testing the eight grips in this review is that it is not actually that difficult, and on average, if you don’t rush, you can have a pair fitted within 30 minutes.

Intelligent heat setting memory - stores previous heat setting and defaults to this at power-up, saving time when in regular use. Note: Function is available when heat controller is connected to ignition. The original KTM grips on my bike were not warm enough and one of them had failed, but another key reason for fitting these Oxford grips was the convenience of having a button on the left-hand grip. The instructions are very clear and concise which helps the fitting process. They are attached by wrapping them around your existing grips and are held in place by Velcro. My only concern with this is if they ever came loose they would effectively spin in the hand, thus causing a loss of throttle control, so it’s important to make sure you fit them both correctly and tightly to prevent this from happening. A basic controller features a simple on/off switch with a green LED light to indicate if they are on or not, but they have no temperature control which is rather disappointing.

Bikeit Heated Grips

These will be fine. The end of the grips may need trimming to fit - the maximum uncut and cut lengths are shown on eachitem. The connectors will be fine when washing your bike - however, it cannot hurt to wrap them in electrical tape when fitting - I have done this to mine in thepast. These Evo Adventure Heaterz are designed as a replacement for the handlebar grips already fitted to the motorcycle. They will fit onto most motorcycles that use 7/8" (22mm) Ø handlebars. Each grip has an open end to allow the bar end weight to be refitted without the need to trim the grip. The standard length of the Evo Adventure Heaterz grip is 5.12" (130mm). Should the length need to be shortened, they can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.72" (120mm) without damaging the heating elements. External gripØ = 1.35" (34.2mm). The handle bars on my 2008 kawasaki Z1000 measure in at 26.5mm, do you have any oxford heated grips thatfit? July 14, 2016 Heat output is controlled via a dial so that you can control the temperature from a low to a high setting. In use you the controller is big and bulky and it’s not really something I would want on my bike. It’s too large for a simple heat controller and I struggled to find a place to attach it.
